As a DC defense attorney, Stanton Shaw keeps his head cool, his questions sharp, and his arguments irrefutable. They don’t call him the Jury Charmer for nothing – with his southern drawl, disarming smile and captivating green eyes – he’s a hard man to say no to. Men want to be him and women want to be thoroughly cross examined by him.

Stanton’s a man with a plan. And for a while, life was going according to that plan.

Until the day he receives an invitation to the wedding of his high school sweetheart and mother of his beloved ten-year old daughter. Jenny is getting married — to someone who isn’t him.

That's definitely not part of the plan.

Sofia Santos is a city raised, no-nonsense litigator who plans to become the most revered criminal defense attorney in the country. She doesn’t have time for relationships or distractions.

But when Stanton, her "friend with mind-blowing benefits" begs for help, she finds herself out of her element, out of her depth, and obviously out of her mind. Because she agrees to go with him – to The-Middle-Of-Nowhere, Mississippi – to do all she can to help Stanton win back the woman he loves.

Her head tells her she's crazy...and her heart says something else entirely.

What happens when you mix a one stop-light town, two professional arguers, a homecoming queen, four big brothers, some Jimmy Dean sausage and a gun-toting Nana?

The Bourbon flows, passions rise and even the best laid plans get overruled by the desires of the heart.

~*Review by me... *~

well... it's quite... a little bit disappointing for me... [though a lot of things disappointing for me lately... >.< ], but... it did... just a little bit...

because... I think... they were [Sofia & Stanton] ssooo typical...
because Sofia did exactly the things she didn't want to do at first... but eventually did and regret...
because Stanton is just... so typical guy who wants everything... and came realise his feeling too late...

though, it's a good story none the less...

Stanton Shaw is a man with a big dream, when his high-school girl friend, Jenny Monroe, got pregnant, he thought that he will never get his dream... but Jenny insisted for him to go to pursue it...

until... more than 10 years passed, when Jenny decided to move on and get married with their high-school friend, James Dean, Stanton has to come back to fight for his girl... and he takes a long his friend with benefit, Sofia Santos...

Stanton and Sofia, both criminal defense attorneys, work in DC, they are both ambitious with record of winning in courts.
they already have relationship for months, however, Sofia denies her feeling for Stanton, while Stanton too blind to realise his feeling for Sofia...

until, Stanton tags Sofia a long in journey to win his sweet heart back, Jenny, and cancel the wedding...

so, how was Sofia finally accepted that she's one of the dummy who's falling for her "friend with benefit"?
or how was Stanton finally realise that he's not in love with Jenny anymore?

"No, you're not. It's an echo. Of who we were, the promises we made, the passion we had. But an echo's not real - you can't build a life on it. It's just a memory of a sound."

I gave it 3 out of 5 stars for it, for I just like it... though still I highly recommended it, you might like it better... and I thought it made us think again about our feeling to people we thought we love or we don't love... ;-)
